Passport holders who meet any of the below conditions are eligible to renew their passport from ECR to Non-ECR.
Those who have completed their 10th class and obtain a valid certificate.
Those who are residing abroad for three or more years (either consecutively or at different intervals) can also apply for renewal by filling out the ECNR Form.
Those who have filed ITR (Indian Income Tax Return) for the last three years or more, with an income of Rs 5 lakh or above.
Anyone 50 years of age or above.
All Gazetted Government Employees, their spouses, and dependent children.
Nurses with a valid nursing certificate recognised under the Indian Nursing Council Act 1947.
Professional degree holders, their spouses, and dependent children.
Seamen with a Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC), or Sea Cadets/ Deck Cadets who have: -
Completed the final examination of 3-year B.Sc. Nautical Science course from T.S. Chanakya Mumbai, and
Completed three months pre-sea training at T.S. Chanakya, T.S. Rehman, T.S. Jawahar, MTI (SCI) and NIPM, Chennai.
Individuals holding a permanent immigration visa for the UK, USA, or Australia.
