If the Emergency Certificate (EC) is Lost Abroad If you lose your Emergency Certificate (EC) while abroad, you must first report it to the nearest police station. After filing the police report, contact the nearest Indian Embassy or Consulate in the country where you are currently residing. Apply for an EC Replacement.
