What precautions to be taken when travelling abroad, carrying your passport?

Updated:
  • While carrying your passport, always carry it safely in a protective pouch cover.
  • Keep at least two to three scanned copies of your passport with you.
  • Also, store at least two copies of your passport at home, as they can be useful if the original passport is lost or stolen.
  • Avoid carrying your passport everywhere unless it's required.
  • For emergencies, keep a PDF file of your passport saved in your email.

Do I need to carry my original passport or its copy while travelling domestically?

Answer: If you have submitted your passport as an identity document, you can carry either the original passport or its copy. However, it is not necessary for a domestic flight.
